Therese Aune (NO) is a classically trained pianist, that skillfully weaves folk, classical, and indie rock textures into evocative and elegant chamber pop that brings to mind artists like Grizzly Bear and Beach House. The music is primarily piano-led, and backed by a mini-orchestra consisting of violin (Hanna Furuseth), cello (Katrine Schiøtt), accordion (Ida Løvli Hidle), tuba (Heida Karine Johannesdottir Mobeck) and drums (Hans Hulbækmo). Her debut album, Billowing Shadows, Flickering Light, was released in Norway through Riot Factory in 2012, as well as in the US through Red Eye Transit in 2013. It was prouced by Sturla Mio Þórisson (Owen Pallett, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy).
Aune has performed on severeal big festivals both in and outside of Norway. Some of the highlights are By:larm, The Oya Festival (NO), Popkomm (DE), Berlin Festival (DE), Iceland Airwaves (ICE), SXSW (US), CMJ (US) and Air d'Islande (FR). She has also toured in Germany and Switzerland supporting Norwegian Einar Stray.
This summer Aune recorded a new EP together with Marcus Forsgren (Bror Forsgren, Lionheart Brothers, Jaga Jazzist) in Ocean Sound Recordings. It is planned released within the first half of 2015.
