Therese Aune (NO) plays dreamy filmatic music, drawing inspiration both from pop music and classical minimalists. She is known for her atmospheric piano playing and powerful expressive voice. When performing, she is accompanied by a little orchestra consisting of violin, cello, tuba and drums. Together they create evocative soundscapes that can be subdued and quiet, or grow big and heavy. So far the music has taken Aune to festivals like By:larm, The Oya Festival (NO), Popkomm (DE), Berlin Festival (DE) and Iceland Airwaves (ICE). She has also toured in Germany and Switzerland supporting Norwegian Einar Stray. Her debut album, Billowing Shadows, Flickering Light was recorded with the Icelandic producer Sturla Mio Þórisson (Owen Pallett, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy). It was released on the Norwegian indie label Riot Factory in 2012, and will be released in the US through Red Eye Transit on Aug 6th.
The band consists of Hanna Furuseth (violin), Katrine Schiøtt (cello), Ida Løvli Hidle (accordion), Heida Karine Mobeck (tuba) and Hans Hulbækmo (drums).
